About Coromandel Town
Coromandel Town is the site of the first discovery of gold in New Zealand in the mid 1800’s and the quaintness of the era has been retained and reflected in the beauty of the township and its heritage buildings.
Stroll through the main street and shop in one of the many local arts and craft stores or have a drink at one of the bars or cafes. There is a supermarket, liquor store and a little further up the road, the Coromandel School of Mines Museum which is always worth a visit.
Nestled between the sea and the Coromandel Ranges the township is located ideally to provide guests with a base to do comfortable day trips and enjoy the beaches and beauty of the Coromandel Peninsula.
